Filth - Short Synopsis
It's the early 1990's and the wave of political correctness
has finally reached the shores of Scotland's capital city.
However, no one has remembered to tell the most
controversial member of Edinburgh's serious crime squad:
Detective Sergeant BRUCE ROBERSTON.
With the festive season upon him, BRUCE is winding down at
work and gearing up socially - kicking off the Christmas
break with a trip to Amsterdam for a week of sex, drugs and
the psychological abuse of his best friend and fellow
Masonic Lodge member. There are irritating flies in the
ointment though including: his missing wife, alcohol
addiction, a dramatic deterioration in his mental health
and some increasingly demanding extra-marital affairs. The
last thing BRUCE needs is a messy racially motivated murder
to solve; despite it meaning plenty of overtime, a chance
to fit up some rival colleagues, and to finally clinch the
promotion he so desperately craves.
