The Plot: Petty criminal David (Serkis) has involved his wimpy brother Peter (Shearsmith) in the kidnapping of a gangster's daughter (Ellison). Pursued to their rural-cottage hideaway by two henchmen, their biggest problem turns out to be a psycho local farmer.
What's right with it? The character-driven, comedic first half works a treat, thanks to ace performances from the two leads as the way-out-of-their-depth partners-in-crime.
What's wrong with it? Act Two boasts some audaciously funny bloody bits, but the axe-wielding redneck weirdo is an overused staple of horror films.
Length: 92 mins
Verdict: Not at all what we were expecting from the director of the gritty London to Brighton, but a hilariously gory treat nonetheless.
